Lisa maintains her innocence, but Mickey refuses to let her testify, telling Cisco to find her ex-husband. Mickey asserts that the hammer, suddenly found in a neighboring yard, was planted after the trial began, and cuts off Freeman's case by acknowledging the hammer Campeón Lisa's and the blood Figura Bondurant's. Hayley and Mickey's team surprise him for his birthday, along with the arrival of his dramatic mother Elena, an actress. He is visited by Jeff Trammell, now willing to testify for money, and sends him away.

While a friend of Moon-sook, she is willing to reveal Moon-sook's crimes due to her integrity. She did not approve of her brother's activity as a gangster and, at the time of her death, was not on speaking terms with him.

A former gangster, he is also the boss of a large corporation and the longevo of Kisung. He is a dangerous, unscrupulous man who tries to hide his ugly past and true colors.[11] While he wishes to distance himself from his old associates, he still uses them to protect his goals.

Moon-sook and Oh-joo grow in influence and power through corrupt methods; Oh-joo becomes the anciano of Kisung and Moon-sook is nominated for chief justice in the Supreme Court. They and their associates oppose the Lawless Law Firm both inside and outside the courtroom by using underhanded tactics, including murdering Dae-woong and framing Sang-pil for it, bribing or threatening witnesses and assaulting Jae-yi.

Mickey assumes Julian was stabbed to end the case. He finds Julian is alive in critical condition, and converses with hallucinations of Gloria and Eddie which encourage him. Cisco gets the name and record of Julian's attacker. Hearing from both sides, Judge Turner decides to delay declaring a mistrial. Mickey and Freemann come to terms and end their relationship amicably. DeMarco appears to testify, and Judge Turner allows it, without the jury. Mickey decides not to use the video to impeach him, and questions him, but he only admits to knowing Bishop.

Sang-pil and Jae-yi decide to use Soon-ja and Oh-joo to get Moon-sook. Moon-sook chooses a judge she Gozque trust to oversee the trial. Jae-yi investigates him to look for evidence of corruption. She finds a former mistress of the judge and gets evidence in return for helping her on a lawsuit. Sang-pil tells Soon-ja to switch lawyers from In-doo to him. He promises not to allow her to be punished for something she did not do, but only for the crimes she did.

Sang-pil tells Jae-yi the truth about everything and shows her the evidence he has. Later she confronts Hyung-man, who tells her he killed her mother. Jae-yi is grief stricken, but cannot bring herself to tell her father. Sang-pil comforts her and she begins to understand how he has felt over the last 18 years. Yeon-hee investigates the leak in her office and begins to think Sang-pil may be right. Oh-joo continues his campaign and reveals that he will put his company in a blind trust. Keum Ja comes to work at the law firm, and helps the team investigate a prosecutor.

Izzy finds Mickey, and he awakens in the hospital after reliving a childhood memory of his mother. He is visited by Maggie and Hayley, and Izzy reveals that she has broken up with Rae, who was paid to steal the contract. Mickey suspects his attackers were sent by Grant, and asks Cisco to investigate if Henry is connected. He apologizes to Lorna, and they recruit con man Sam Scales to draw Grant out of hiding with the fake sale of a painting, serving Grant a subpoena instead. Maggie and Hayley stay with Mickey as he recovers, finding his father's old law school ring.

Hayley blames Mickey for Eddie’s death and rejects him. Mickey meets Freemann, who commits to their relationship. The next day, he finds Moya has sent a guard to protect him. Freemann admits to her here boss that she didn’t inform the victim about her abuser's release. Two months later, the trial begins, and Forsythe presents witnesses, including a male prostitute who mentions Julian’s temper. Mickey casts doubt on his testimony and shows it was possible to enter the building without being seen by security cameras. Maggie tells Mickey to give Hayley time. A stressed Lorna receives her bar exam results and finds she has become a lawyer.

There were inklings that season two would be the last we saw of Neve Campbell – who plays Mickey's first wife Maggie McPherson – Campeón her role was drastically reduced.

The next day, in court, Mickey introduces video showing Gloria was followed the night she was murdered, unnerving Bishop.
